Unfortunately I wasn't able to post my NFL Week 6 Predictions before Thursday. Last week I was able to participate in a Basic Mediation Training, a field I think I'd be alright at. I'm good at solving conflicts between other people and I enjoy it - not so great at solving my own conflicts. So it goes.
Anyhow, my picks are around a 66% success rate, and week 6 kinda sucks anyway. Instead of football games, this week I intend predict Taylor Swift's NFL schedule for the rest of the season.
So far my predictions are 1-0 concerning Taylor attending a game - I correctly anticipated her absence in Minnesota. Let's take a look at the rest of the season!
Note: All times in CST, because that is where I live. GREEN means I predict Taylor will be there, RED means I predict she will not. I have taken consideration for the NFL Flex Scheduling Rules - that is when the NFL can move a game from one time slot to a prime time spot. No stone unturned.
Week 7 - Sunday October 22nd at 3:25 PM
At Kansas City (vs LA Chargers)
TAYLOR SWIFT WILL BE HERE
Should be a good game - a great game to learn more about football rules and whatnot for everyone involved.
Given Brandon Staley will still be coaching the Chargers, new NFL-Swift fans will get an opportunity to learn (hence love) some late-game rule that helps the Chiefs win. I'm guessing it will have something to do with a 10 second run-off.
Week 8 - Sunday October 29th at 3:25 PM
At Denver
TAYLOR SWIFT WILL NOT BE HERE
This is a hard one to call because it will be fun to watch them run up the score, but Taylor has already seen her man-friend play this team.
Also it sucks to fly into Denver - the airport is weird and the stadium is going to be cold. Can't rock the off-one-shoulder-jacket look here. I just invented that fashion term, you're welcome fashion.
More importantly - where would they go to hang out after the game? A micro-brewery? Folklore came out in 2020.
Even MORE importantly 1989 (Taylor's Version) comes out on the 27th. I can't wait. It's my favorite album.
Week 9 - Sunday November 5th at 8:30 AM
At Germany? (vs Miami Dolphins)
TAYLOR SWIFT WILL NOT BE HERE
This game would absolutely get flexed if it weren't scheduled for a different country.
I'm sure Taylor would love to be here, but she will be probably be preparing for her international tour dates. Gotta go to work.
Week 10 - Bye
Currently, the Thursday night game is Bears vs Panthers. The Sunday night game is Jets at Raiders. The Monday Night game is Denver at Buffalo. God help us all.
The Swift vacuum will be felt throughout the league. 45 year old men will be begging for the camera to cut to anything remotely interesting.
I bet the NFL hires cats to run onto the field at random times, like that one time when Dallas beat the Giants. That was a good time.
Also, Taylor plays Argentina on November 9th, kicking off her international tour. What great timing for a bye? I hope they get to hang out for a few days after Travis gets back from Germany - I bet his flight goes through New York.
Week 11 - Monday November 20th at 7:15 PM
At Kansas City (vs Philadelphia Eagles)
TAYLOR SWIFT WILL BE HERE
Taylor is in Brazil on the 19th, but doesn't play again until the 24th. But that's also in Brazil. I can't see her flying back for one night.... but maybe....?
Hear me out: she could come in Monday for the game (which by the way, involves both Kelce brothers) and then have a Thanksgiving meal with the Donna and the boys (and their families of course) in Kansas City - then fly back to Brazil on Friday.
I bet she put that break in the schedule for Thanksgiving with her family anyway (it is on the 23rd - I had to look it up of course).
Week 12 - Sunday November 26th at 3:25 PM
At Las Vegas
TAYLOR SWIFT WILL NOT BE HERE
Taylor is still in Brazil. But it is her last show until February!
Week 13 - Sunday December 3rd at 7:20 PM
At Green Bay
TAYLOR SWIFT WILL BE HERE
While I know Green Bay is not a dangerous area, the addition of Taylor would invite all the attention the good folks of Wisconsin actively avoid. You don't consume that much beer and cheese before welcoming a fancy guest.
But it is Lambeau Field... Travis may not play there again for a while, if ever... Great opportunity for Swifties to get some good ole NFL tradition experience. This one was hard to call.
Week 14 - Sunday December 10th at 3:25 PM
At Kansas City (vs Buffalo Bills)
TAYLOR SWIFT WILL BE HERE
This game might be flexed if the Cowboys are out of the playoffs by this point. That is a possibility I would only be excited about if it means McCarthy gets fired.
Either way this will be a big game, and her schedule seems flexible here.
Week 15 - Monday December 18th at 7:15 PM
At New England
TAYLOR SWIFT WILL NOT BE HERE
Do I need to explain why nobody will care about this game? I do not.
Also, Taylor has some presents to wrap.
Week 16 - Monday December 25th at 12:00 PM
At Kansas City (vs Las Vegas Raiders)
TAYLOR SWIFT WILL NOT BE HERE
The NFL was bold to put a triple header on Christmas Day. I'm not sad they did, but damn... bold.
They can exchange gifts on the 26th, it will be fine. I hope they give each other friendship bracelets, but like, really expensive ones. Meaningful though.
Week 17 - Sunday December 31st at 3:25 PM
At Kansas City (vs Cincinnati Bengals)
TAYLOR SWIFT WILL BE HERE
Okay, this one could get flexed. We have Vikings vs Packers slated for this evening, and both of these teams suck real bad right now.
I imagine Taylor and Travis will be celebrating the New Year together anyhow. The game getting flexed to the Sunday evening slot would delay the party, but they can still be in the same place at midnight.
Just please leave them alone after the game. It has been an tough year for everyone. Go drink some Champagne and watch celebrities get drunk on TV - the ones who get paid to do it.
Week 18 - Sunday January 7th at TBD
At Los Angeles Chargers
TAYLOR SWIFT WILL NOT BE HERE
This game won't mean much for the Chiefs, maybe Travis can take the week off to hang out with Taylor around LA? That sounds awful. Maybe they could just spend the weekend in Big Bear or something.
Wild Card Weekend - January 13-15
TAYLOR SWIFT WILL NOT BE HERE
He's not gonna play this weekend, the Chiefs will have a bye.
Divisional Round - January 20-21
At Kansas City vs ?
TAYLOR SWIFT WILL BE HERE
I bet they play the Bengals. Taylor will be there - the playoffs are important. She is so supportive.
Conference Championships - January 28
(probably) at Kansas City vs ?
TAYLOR SWIFT WILL BE HERE
This is IF they win the Divisional Round game. That isn't as big of an 'if' as I typed it, especially if they play the Bengals, but I feel it necessary to mention these predictions get more and more risky as I go on due to the parity in the NFL.
Not because I think they will break up. I'm not predicting that. Ever.
Super Bowl - February 11
At Las Vegas - Kansas City vs ?
TAYLOR SWIFT WILL BE HERE
Her final show in Tokyo is on the 10th, but Tokyo is about 12 hours ahead of the West Coast. The Super Bowl is in Vegas though, so if he is in it, her attendance is not impossible.
Let's do some math. If she is able to board a plane by 2AM in Tokyo, with a flight lasting 14 hours, she could arrive in Vegas around 4 AM (pacific time) Sunday morning. Take a long nap, eat something, and head on down to the Super Bowl!
If she makes this trip, I would hope he heads off to Melbourne the next week - his first opportunity to see a Taylor Swift show since this last summer. I bet it rocks.
Oh yea, and Kansas City will make the Super Bowl.
Rock and roll,
-Stein
I love this. Let's review the accuracy of the predictions on February 12th.
